Apartment buildings on Pine, Allard get new lease on life
For those who have not noticed, Elstrong Management Limited has undertaken a huge renovation project on three newly purchased buildings on 731 Pine and 62 & 76 Allard Streets.
Several local owners who purchased the buildings in late February of this year contributed half a million dollars to the project. The interior and exterior facelifts should be finished by mid-July.
To lend some scale to the work being done, nine contractors are working on the project, as well as numerous sub-contractors. Locally, Ellwood Robinson Ltd. (parking lots and turnarounds), Siding Innovations (windows), Meincke Masonry (brickwork), Park Construction (balconies), McMillan Carpet One (all carpeting), Caliber Electric (intercom system), Ken McMillan (landscaping) and Carmen Muto Plumbing & Heating (boilers and plumbing) have added to the effort. Designed Roofing Inc. was the lone out of town contractor.
Residents of the three twenty-six unit buildings are ecstatic to see their thirty-four year old buildings get a new look. They do not mind the daily hustle and bustle of the many workers at their jobs, nor the occasional inconvenience of a worker entering a unit to replace a window.

Not only are the residents happy, but the owners are as well. Since February, occupancy rates have soared.
